Shirin Neshat of Sarbazan and Janbakhtegan is a Los Angeles-based Iranian human rights activist and news commentator. She is the daughter of the late General Ali Neshat, the last commander of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi’s Imperial Guard, who was executed by the Islamic regime in Iran on April 10, 1979. Ms. Neshat heads up the annual memorial in Los Angeles for the Unsung Heroes of the Imperial Iranian Armed Forces, and occasionally appears on Ariamehr TV in Los Angeles.
